Meet larrian

During my time as a student-athlete at UCLA, there were no sponsorship opportunities available for women’s fencing. This meant a lack of equipment, no financial support for tournament entries, and no coaching funds.

To afford my lessons at Faulkner Studios, Salle de Nord, and Salle Mori, I took on a job in food service at the dormitories.

I still cherish the memory of my one “touch” against Olympic Champion Heizaburo Okawa.
